about us

Situated near Ladybower, in the heart of the upper Peak District in Derbyshire, The Snake Pass Inn offers the perfect retreat for anyone who needs a break away from the city, including families, large groups and those with dogs.

With our twelve letting rooms, including four more spacious, dog friendly rooms just outside the pub, and sizable function room, we can provide for all your bed and breakfast, conference and celebratory needs.

Our traditional ‘pub grub’ menu offers sustenance, not only for a relaxing, warm post-walk meal due to our fantastic location close to major footpaths, including the Pennine Way, but also for people passing by, on business, or just a day trip. We also offer a light-bites section which is perfect for lunchtime or just a quick snack!

the accommodation

Our letting rooms provide everything you could need for a break from the day to day, including a TV, coffee and tea making facilities, various bathroom set-ups, and, of course, a lovely, comfy bed to get some well earned, good valued rest. We can also provide a fantastic breakfast to start your day off right.

With our separate, dog-friendly rooms just outside the front door, you can escape to your own space without walking too far. These rooms can sleep up to five people, with a bathroom and reception room, giving you even more privacy.

the food

At The Snake Pass Inn, we strive to give you high quality, reasonably priced food. To achieve this, we only use local suppliers, including Mettrick’s Butchers of Glossop, butcher of the year 2011,2012, and 2013, and produce, which we use to create a range of delicious home-cooked favourites. We have a range of vegetarian options, and we can cater for most dietary requirements, so just ask a member of our team for some assistance, and let us know what we can do for you.

A light bites selection, which comprises of sandwiches, jacket potatoes and salads, provides something for lunchtime, or for those with less of an appetite. We also have a Children’s Menu, with a vegetarian option as well.

  • Have got to say this place beats so many others. Chris and Mike made you feel so welcome. The food was outstanding....steak pie to die for. The full English breakfast was exactly that...FULL.There was a choice of cereal and yoghurts too.
The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Surrounded by nothing but countryside this was by far the best place we have stayed in!!! Will definitely be going back there.

  • Having stayed there previously I knew that we would be treated well, but my party of 100 people haven't stopped talking about the sumptuous 'breakfast banquet' the team put on for us when we stopped by for morning coffee. Excellent value; nothing too much trouble. Don't miss the opportunity to experience it for yourself!

  • We have stayed in a few places that claim to be dog friendly and then slap on loads of restrictions! Not here. Mike and the team are all truly dog lovers and made us and our two dogs truly welcome. The service was excellent the food delicious and the rooms perfect for us. Thanks all Jo & Kev

  • Stayed here for one night during a walking weekend break and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. A lovely bar area that was welcoming and brilliant hosts who were equally as welcoming! The room (Room1) had a lovely bath and plenty of hot water to soak aching muscles. The evening food menu was good and just what we needed after a day out walking the peaks. The hotel was very quiet so we had a good nights sleep. I would definitely recommend Snake Pass In, you won't be disappointed! Thanks Mike and Chris, we'll certainly return.

  • We had a wonderfully warm welcome at the Snake Pass and after a fantastic walk direct from the inn along the Kinder edges, we enjoyed some hearty food and well-kept ales in the excellent company of friendly staff and fellow walkers
